AI In Construction?

Construction AI

Construction is an industry faced with rising costs, labor issues, material issues, and in need of solutions that improve razor thin margins. Could AI be the solution?

By now, most of us have heard of the latest going on in artificial intelligence or AI. Recently, a group of reporters were invited to try a developmental version of Microsoft's Bing driven by AI. The new search technology, based on ChatGpt, had some surprising results including suggesting that one reporter leave his wife.

Where does that leave this new fledgling technology in one of the oldest industries in the world that has been historical slow to adopt tech solutions? Apparently, someone is using it according to a report on Yahoo, possibly written by AI...?

"The global Artificial Intelligence in Construction market size was valued at USD 709.09 million in 2022 and is expected to expand at a CAGR of 37.93% during the forecast period, reaching USD 4882.79 million by 2029."

The article goes on to say "A construction AI system may recommend to a builder what materials, specific design languages, and costs are needed to create the home based on available data, within seconds," thus making the process more efficient.  What if its wrong?

So that leaves us with how should the industry adapt and embrace AI? As we all know, the industry needs all the help it can get. Some areas it could possible help are safety, productivity and efficiency, and ultimately promote cost savings.
