EV Charging & Chipotle

Chipotle is hoping to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gases by half by in 2030. To accomplish this, the chain is rolling out a new restaurant design that incorporates a design using 100% renewable energy.

The stores will use a combination of self generated energy, mostly through solar power, and renewable energy credits.

Next year, Chipotle said 100 of its new locations, "at least," will utilize some of the elements featured in the new design: electric vehicle charging stations, rooftop solar panels, heat pump water heaters and all-electric equipment and systems instead of natural gas. In the kitchen: a smaller electric cook line and upgraded exhaust hoods.

The chain has an aggressive store count goal going from 3,200 locations at the end of 2022 to over 7,000 locations in North America. It all makes sense to me, have a burrito bowl and get your car charged at the same time?  Sounds like a win win!
