DOHERTY TO RETIRE FROM THE CHICAGO BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND JOIN PHASE 1 CONSULTING.
Chicago, IL - June 27, 2023 - After a distinguished career with the Chicago Building Department, Ed Doherty has announced his retirement, effective July 1st, 2023. Following his departure, Doherty will be joining Phase 1 Consulting, a leading advisory firm in the construction and development industry.
With over three decades of dedicated service, Ed Doherty has made a significant impact on the Chicago Building Department and the city’s built environment. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of construction and regulatory compliance.
During his time with the Chicago Building Department, Doherty held various key positions, including Coordinator of Special Projects and Senior Project Manager where he supervised all Project Managers at City Hall and 3 neighborhood offices in the third largest city in the United States. During his tenure, he was responsible for creating and implementing the Building Inspection Request System. His tireless efforts have contributed to the growth, safety, and development of Chicago's construction landscape, leaving a lasting legacy.
