Walmart Is The Latest To Have an EV Charger Plan
There is a long list of retailers, restaurants, automotive companies, and service stations joining the EV charging revolution.
Taco Bell, Subway, 7-Eleven, Buck-ee's, Shell, BP, TravelCenters of America, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, and Ford, just to name a few.
Walmart announced plans to have a complete EV charging network in place by 2030. "The new fast charging stations will be placed at thousands of Walmart and Sam's Club stores, alongside nearly 1,300 it already operates as part of a deal with Electrify America, one of the country's largest open public EV networks."
The company is well served to meet the EV charging needs with over 5,000 stores and warehouse clubs, all of which are located within 10 miles of 90% of the American public.
The good news is he Walmart will install DC fast chargers at their stores. The bad news is they only plan to install an average of 4 chargers per store. Given they have 240 million customer visits each week, four chargers per store does not sound like a lot.
